About Me Welcome to Speech Therapy with Ms. Shanna
I'm a school based Speech Language Pathologist at Walsh School in the Early Childhood program.
Welcome to Walsh School. My name is Shanna Henry.I am in my 17th year as a Speech-Language Pathologist.I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana in 2004 and my graduate degree from Eastern Illinois University in 2006.I am a member of the Illinois Speech-Language-Hearing Association and American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, which is our national organization.I have my professional credential the Certificate of Clinical Confidence (CCC) from our national organization. This means I have met the standards required to become a licensed therapist and allows me the opportunity to continue my professional development by participating in continuing education and receiving the latest journals and reports about new research in the field.
I currently live in Lockport with my husband of 15 years. We have been blessed with three beautiful children: Liam (10), Colin (9) and Adelyn (7).They keep us very busy! Our children also attend District 92, so we are very active in the community. Say "Hi" when you see us around!
As mentioned above, I am in my 17th year as an SLP and I have been at Walsh School in Early Childhood all 17 years.I truly love working with this group of kids.I enjoy having the flexibility to work with the students in a variety of ways. They receive speech in large groups, small groups, individually and in play.I can tailor the therapy specifically to the student’s needs. Our self-contained and community preschool classrooms are a cohesive team, which creates naturalistic learning environments for all of our students. I look forward to another great year of learning and growth. Thanks for all that you do at home!
